It's Colour Week at Just Us Girls

Time for our Colour Challenge at
Just Us Girls and Hostess for this week is
Our Lovely Lisa.
choosing the colours below.
Now as most of you know purple is my
favourite (and Judy's) colour so this pleased me no end.
***
This is a fairly simple card in which I used metallic paper.
I cut out a corner with a SB die to lay my flowers into.
I inked up some water colour paper
with TH Victorian Velvet/Seedless Preserves
and Spun Sugar adding a small amount
of Iridescent Medium for a bit of shimmer.
I then  punched the flowers with
my MS poinsettia punches
(something I haven't used in ages)
randomly putting them in their place.
Added some grey leaves and fern.
I found this tiny piece of silver corrugated cardboard
in my bits box and cut my XOXO
and cutting a second one in grey cs for backing.
I finished off with added gems and sequins
in colours to match.

Hope you will pop over to
Our Blog to see how these fabulous colours
inspired our March Guest Nance and
my Team Mates then join us. In doing so
you could be chosen as Chic of the Week.

Thanks for dropping in today.

It's your 'Mid Month Reminder' for STAMPlorations

Time flies when you are having fun and sadly
my time as a Guest Designer for the
is coming to an end.
So here is your reminder that you still have a little time
to get your CAS card in for this months challenge.
(Don't forget there are prizes to be won)

I wanted to feature the new stamp set
STAMPlorations/CUTplorations Pocket Blooms
Starting with my white card base I then
cut my backing with a sizzix die
inking it up using ARTploration Plaid Maker
with Memento Spun Sugar.
I added Memento Victorian Velvet onto my craft sheet
spritzing and smooched it onto white card then
heat embossed the daisies in white onto that.
My denim pocket was inked and cut from blue paper
adding the XOXO using Memento London Fog.
I then attached some blue ribbon, popping my flowers
and denim pocket.
Added the sentiment also from the same stamp set
and a few hearts to finish.

While I had the Pocket Blooms stamp set out
I thought I would try and make this card
a little different.
The background is stenciled with ARTplorations Zen Hearts
with Tim Holtz Distress inks
and after colouring in my daisies I popped it
onto the front. Now my something different
is that I cut out the denim pocket with blue paper
and then again with denim material to which I
tried distressing it by cutting the material and
adding ink to give it a worn look.
I added stitches with a white gel pen.
Sentiment is also from the above stamp set.

It's 'Merry'

It's time for Challenge #3 over at Season's Greetings
Our Challenge this fortnight is -
Always Anything Goes with the Twist
Wet & or Dry Embossing.

Here is how I made my card
using the Optional Twist
Card base is a metallic paper
to which I added  purple for my first frame
cut with a stitched die
then I embossed silver paper from an old
Cuttlebug Christmas set adding it to the frame.
I then die cut another shade of purple cs
with Spellbinders Labels 18 inking it
randomly with one of the stamps
from SU Snowburst in Memento Sweet Plum.
I showcased my Ornate Baubles from Kaisercraft
again cutting them in purple and heat embossed
them with Polysparkle Powder (which is a little hard to see)
I then got my die and penciled around the edges of the baubles
on grey shimmery paper and hand cut to add as backing.
I rounded the backs, added dimensional squares
making them pop then  added some gems.
My Merry die is cut from Lawn Fawn
which was only partially cut to fit.

I would also like to give a BIG WELCOME
to my dear friend Cheryl Wright who is
now part of

Thanks so much for dropping in.
Hope you will find time to play with this fun Challenge.
Pop over to see what all the Kangaroos (sorry had to say it)
have made Here and I look forward to seeing you there.
