It's our 'Colour Week' at Just Us Girls

Judy is our Host for this week's Colour Challenge at Just Us Girls
This is a favourite of mine and also the great colours chosen.

I love kraft card stock as a base and red and black
always makes a great combination.
I topped my card base with matching cs with a stitched die
heat embossing it with VersaMark ink
stamped with SU Beyond Basics
and a tiny flower from STAMPlorations Groovy Shoes.
My main flower is cut from a Marianne Die with DP from Bella.
Centre pearl is a brad - yes a brad - those little things we
all have a stack off and now out of vogue.
I backed that with ribbon making sure I had some black.
I then added some little punched out flowers adding
tiny pearls to the centre and
  randomly adding more pearls.
My sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping.

Be inspired by checking out Our Blog
to see what our February Guest Michele Greenwood
and the 'Team' created.
Hope to see you there. You could be chosen as our
Chic of the Week and go on the be our
Guest in April.

Thanks for dropping in today.

It's the "Last Day' for our 'LOVE' TAGplorations Blog Hop

I hope you have enjoyed all the fabulous 'Tag'
projects the Team over at STAMPlorations have
been so busy creating for you.
I know I have enjoyed the challenge of
getting out of my comfort zone
making tags - something I don't make very often.
This is our last day -

So for something different I have made a few cards with tags!
I won't go into too much detail as to
how/what  I used on my cards but will
detail all the items from the STAMPlorations Blog

There is so much going on in this card - stencilling
stamping die cutting to name the main ones.
From STAMPlorations I used -
Spellbinder dies, ribbon, cotton and pearls.

and the same goes with this one but not as much
I inked STAMPlorations ARTplorations Rows of Hearts
with my Versamark ink pad on kraft cs.
Tag and background was then made up from
STAMPlorations Floral Bliss heat embossed in white
and cut from Spellbinder die and popped.
Sponging around edges of the tag and floral images.
Behind my tag is the SB Heart Circle die
which was also inked with the Grunge stamp.
Sentiment was cut from a MFT Stitched die
Finished with own ribbon and a tiny pink heart.

Hope you have been busy creating and commenting
as there are LOADS of great prizes to win.
Pop over To Our Main Blog for all the details and
don't forget you can use my discount code STAMPGIRLINA
to get 20% off your goodies in our STAMPlorations Store.
How good is that?

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my blog
and I am sure you have also been hopping all over
to see how creative the 'Team' have been.

By the way our Love TAGplorations wouldn't be
the success it is if it wasn't for our most generous
Leader - Shery Russ so
Thank You from the bottom of my Heart.

Happy Ever After at Shopping our Stash

It's time again for a new challenge over at Shopping our Stash
and this week we are looking for a Romantic Project
BUT without a Heart.
I was given the bride/groom die cut from a friend
(Thanks Cheryl) and what better time to use it.
I decided to go with 2 different types of metallic card stock here.
One has a pattern on it with a slight greeny tinge
and the other more pronounced. Tricky to photograph.
Using a retired SU embossing folder as my background
I then cut out one frame from MFT and the other Spellbinders.
Adhered the bride & groom image and added my sentiment
which is from Gina K Designs and finishing with pearls
the same colour as my paper.

Thanks for dropping in -
Be sure to go over and check what the
Talented Team at Shopping our Stash
have made for your inspiration
and hope to see your creation there.

Delight in a 'Cup of Tea'

Sponsoring this weeks challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations
is STAMPlorations and a bunch of their Designers
have been supporting this challenge as Guests.
I was one of those and now I decided to
add another card to the gallery.

I recently purchased the Poppy Die called Teacup Stack
and thought this a perfect opportunity to try it out.
I cut it in the red white and black carefully
trying to keep as many pieces together so I could
pick what I wanted where. I then cut another piece out
of jac paper to stick my main piece to the card stock.

I took my inspiration this time from
those tiny hearts on top of that yummy looking icing.
Just looking at them made me hunger for something sweet.
***
My card base is black topped with red then
and stencilled through it with red acrylic paint
add some random grunge from
then added my sentiment from
I thought the sentiment went nicely
with a cup of tea. I do enjoy mine
first thing in the morning (and out of a teapot)
Finished with corner rounding on side.

#EDIT I am going to pop this over to
Again I went with the hearts and tiny dots
which I added to the top cup.

Thanks so much for popping in today.
Love reading your comments so don't be shy!

It's a 'FIRST'

Seasons Greetings Challenge Blog
Welcome to the 'Very First' Season's Greetings
Anything Goes Christmas Challenge.

This is a 'LONG POST'

I got caught out badly last year with my Christmas card making
so decided to 'try' and remedy that by starting them earlier.
Well it so happens that there was a 'Design Team Call'
for a new Christmas Challenge and I thought
what a great opportunity it would be to apply.
I was fortunate in being chosen as one of the 'Designers'
There are 2 Teams named  in true Aussie Style
as it is based in my home state of Queensland Australia
Team Kangaroo - I am on this one
and
Team Koala joining in Challenge #2 in two weeks time.
So here goes -
Check it all out HERE

Here is the card I made for your Inspiration

I started off with my base of kraft card stock
and then went on to add some layers.
The white background has been cut with a
stitched die and as I didn't have a big
'LOVE' stamp with Christmas on it
I made a computer generated one.
Added some scoring and a few pearls.
For my focal image I got out my
 Spellbinders Poinsettia die cutting several
with white card stock. While they were still in the die
I inked them with Clear Wink of Stella.
I then made my backing with white and gold paper.
Added some Christmas Ribbons from my stash
and leaves from Tim Holtz Mini Holiday Greens.
Finished with another pearl on my flower.

You can see the shimmer from the wos
 ***
Hope you will pop over to our Blog
and check out what my Team Mates (Aussie Saying)
have made. Love to see you join in and kick start
those Christmas cards early.

Thanks for popping in today.

Celebrating at CAS on Sunday

The girls at Clean and Simple on Sunday are going blue!
Is it because of the cold weather? No it is their Colour Challenge.
Details are Here
Aren't they divine?

I don't think I have ever seen a blue poppy but
I love this Rubbernecker watercolour poppy stamp.
It is a 2 step stamp so I inked up the outline
on water colour paper with Memento Teal Zeal
then for the second part with SU Baja Breeze slightly to the side.
I then touched it up with some metallic paints.
The centre of the flowers were dotted with a white uniball pen.
My Celebrate is from the CUTplorations die
first in navy peaking out the back and then blue.
Added a bit of spritzing and finishing with matting
to match the above colours.
Thanks for popping in to see what I have ben up to.
Love to read your comments.
PS This card was so hard to photograph trying
to show all the colours required.
***
I'll be back early tomorrow with a brand new
card for a brand new Blog I am designing for.
See you then.

All you need is a 'CUPCAKE'

STAMPlorations  are sponsoring
Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #394
and I have made this card as part of the
 STAMPlorations Guest Designers
You can find all the details from the Link above.

 CIC394-feb12.png

I started off with the basic card stock of red & white.
The cupcake image/sentiment are digi images
from our very own Shery Russ. Thanks Shery.
My cupcakes were inked up with a
black and red sparkley gelly roll pens.
This was then matted with red card stock and
attached to my background which was cut from
a Spellbinder Scalloped Die. I then got out my
and inked with red distress ink but was too plain
so  used texture paste in white - then it looked
lost so that is when I inked it with TH Festive Berries
straight from the ink pad and got this great mottled effect.
This was popped and attached to a piece of cs.
I then embossed with some really old
cuttlebug embossing (remember those little strips?)
It needed something to break the white.
I finished with the sentiment, some cotton and a tiny heart.

This shows a better view of the shine from the pens.
It does look pink but I think that is because of the
shimmer from the pens.
Thanks so much for dropping in. There are so many more
Guests participating this week so pop over and see
what they have created
with the Talented Designers from
