I'm Hosting this weeks challenge at Just Us Girls

I am hosting this weeks challenge over at
Just Us Girls for our Colour Week.
Most of you know my favourite colour is Purple
and I love to combine it with Teal.
Since it is close to Christmas I chose  Gold
as the third colour.
I love making non traditional coloured Christmas cards
(and that is what I went with)
I couldn't not make a Christmas card without pulling out
my favourite Poinsettia die from Spellbinders.
Now I have NEVER seen a poinsettia the colours I chose
but what the heck! It's different.
My card base is white.
My first layer is embossed with an old Cuttlebug
Christmas embossing folder.
Cutting a piece of DP from American Crafts with
Spellbinder Labels 20 I attached that adding
ribbon and a small strip from a Starform sticker.
My berries and holly were cut out from Kaisercraft dies
I bought while on holidays (vacation)
The Merry Christmas die is also new for me and from Lawn Fawn.
Now on to THAT poinsettia -
I covered a sheet of card stock with spritzed
Tim Holtz Mermaid Lagoon and Wilted Violet
and touches of Blue Moonstone Sparkle Medium
then cut out the pieces for the flower.
There were some white bits showing so covered that with
Tim Holtz Milled Lavender.
Added some Inka Gold around the edges
and touched up with Wink of Stella
for a little more sparkle.
Finished with some dew drops.
Sorry for the long posting. Hope you had a coffee
while reading it.
Now you need to pop over to
Our Blog to check out our November
Guest - Cecile and my Talented Team Mates creations.
Then I hope you will play with us this week.
You could be chosen as our Chic of the Week
and in the running for Guest Designer in January 2017.
PS It can be any type of card as long as it has
just those 3 colours (with neutrals accepted)
Thanks so much for dropping in

It's 'MERRY CHRISTMAS' in Traditional Colours

Time for the latest challenge over at
And aren't we all busy creating those
Christmas cards as it gets closer by the day.

Also at Double D Challenges
for their Traditional Christmas Colours

I received a new Christmas die a few days and
decided to try it out. It was much bigger than I had thought
but worked nicely for this card.
Adding to my card base is DP from Buffle -
I couldn't have a Christmas card without my Tartan.
I hand cut 2 shaped pieces adding my snowflake
which has been cut several time from
a Spellbinder die.

I tried to show how sparkly the white part of the snowflake
is but still hasn't photographed well.
The red part has been heat embossed in clear powder.
I cut my Merry - from Memory Box several times.
Added touches of the glitter around the sentiment
and a few stars to complete my card.

Thanks for dropping in.
Love to read your Kind Comments.

STAMPlorations CAS November Card Challenge

It's nearing the middle of November and the
STAMPlorations CAS card challenge
is in full swing. This month the
Optional colour twist is PURPLE!
Details  HERE
How perfect for me -

This card was ca-simply quick to make.
I used an ivory shimmery card stock.
The ornament is from an old
Cuttlebug Christmas collection.
Inked up Tim Holtz Mermaid Lagoon & Wilted Violet
spritzing and adding a touch of Inka Gold
popping it slightly in from a stitched die backing.
Attached a piece of gold string and
adding a few small gems.
My sentiment is from Stampin' Up.

So there it is - another Christmas card done.

PS You will have seen a few cards with those
same colours. Just love them so much together.

Thanks for dropping in
Love reading your comments.

A Watercolour Poppy

Once again I have moved away from Christmas Cards
to make this Thank You card to send to a friend.

I do love the soothing effect water colouring has
on me. I find it so relaxing.

This is another CAS card - my favourite lately.
I have used a metallic card stock for
my base and first layer.
I decided to add a spritzed background colour
using Tim Holtz Dried Marigold
adding a few speckles for interest.
Now to add some text to the background
from 49 and Market
as part of the criteria for the

I then went on to heat emboss my poppy
which is a Rubbernecker stamp
working on canvas paper rather than
the usual watercolour paper.
This was painted with some
shimmery paints I had recently bought
and thought it timely to try them out.
Both layers are slightly popped.
Inked around the edges and corner rounded.
Sentiment is also from 49 and Market.

Popping this one over to
for their

Another CAS Christmas Card.

It's time for a new challenge over at
Crafty Cardmakers and Jackie is Hosting.
She has chosen Embossing - Dry or Heat

As Christmas approaches I find myself
behind on my Christmas card making
hence I have once again gone CAS.
Another reason for this is they are easy to post.

I used basic white card stock to begin.
My main focal point are those snowflakes from SU
which are heat embossed in gold.
Behind that I have dry embossed my background
with an old Cuttlebug Christmas folder.
Both these have been matted with gold paper.
My sentiment is also from SU.
It is a shame you can't see the shimmer.
Used dimension squares for effect.
behind the snowflakes as I spritzed it with
Champagne Mist from SU.
Finished off with gold pearls.

Pop over to Our Blog to see what
the other Designers created.
Hope you can join us.

Thanks for dropping in.

It's Stencil 'Overkill'

I love playing with stencils and when I saw that the
Seize the Birthday Blog has as their current challenge
Stencils I wanted to play.

What fun I had with this card.
I didn't have a clue as to what I would make
so decided to get inky with bright colours moving
away from my Christmas Card making and
go 'way out over the top'.
As you can see I did just that. Couldn't help myself!
I used bright coloured card stock and scraps
distress inks and several stencils.
A bit of spritzing popping and adding my
'Cool Sentiment' from Paper Smooches
I was done.

Thanks for dropping in -
