Having a A Stitching Time

There's a new challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers
Maike is hosting and has chosen  Stitching, Faux or Real.
You can enter anything you fancy,
it doesn't have to just be cards,
as long as it meets the challenge,
and doesn't exceed the 15 total challenges entered rule!

I have had this card for quite some time and it was
the first time I had ever tried embroidery on a card
so you will see some  mistakes. This was made
at a card day and the cotton and card base were supplied.
However it was rather plain so I needed to
finish it off. I decided to keep it simple and
add a sentiment from Spellbinders
and a few coloured gemstones to finish.
I so enjoyed making this and have a few books
and supplies to play with but alas they have been neglected.
I did start to make another card for this challenge but
time was running out.

Now pop over and see what my Team Mates have
made for this challenge.
Hope you get the chance to join us.

Scrapping on!

I could just keep going with trying to use up some of my
scraps and would be doing so for the rest of the year
but the challenge over at The House that Stamps Built
Details Here
closes in a few days so...
This is the last one.

This one was a bit fiddly. My patchwork sister
would have had this done in no time.
As you can see here - quite a few more scraps
than my last 2 cards.
I just made a patchwork type layout and added a
Repeat Impression Butterfly (108F)
touched up with Wink of Stella.
Used a hole punch for the trail.
My sentiment is also from
Repeat Impression - Hello Stamp Set.
Added the big Hello to the inside.

So that is it for this super Challenge
from Rock Star Joy.
Thanks for dropping in.

Another 'scrappy' card

So many scraps so little used so
more time to play at The House that Stamps Built
Details Here

Once again I have gone for a cas design
using some scrap kraft card stock
and a couple of coloured ones.
The stamps are from
Repeat Impression -
9706W
1706I Wild Violets
and 1713J Dandelions
heat embossed in white
and popped.
My sentiment is from
Inspired by Stamping - Hello.

I have been having so much fun using up
just a few scraps so I made one last card.
This will follow from this entry.

Thanks for dropping in again

A Floral Thinking of You.

Once again it is time for a new challenge at
and this time round it is a Sketch.
I love getting away from straight lines
so this challenge suited me nicely.
As you can see I flipped the sketch
and went from there.
I used kraft and coloured card stock.
Added a scrap piece of DP  and used
the same paper for my flower which is from
Die-namics.Other punches are from Stampin' Up
and Martha Stewart.
Sentiment is from Gina K Designs
and finished with a pearl in the centre
of my flower.
A pretty simple sketch and such a cas design.

I am also entering this card at

Trying Something New!

Over at The Mod Squad
I found this amazingly different technique
that I just had to try.
It is called Retiform Technique and was so much fun.
My friend Donna is hosting and after seeing her cards
I decided since I had never done this before
I would attempt to case her card.
Details Here

Here is how and the products I used -
Coloured card stock as my base and backing.
I then got out my sticky notes and started inking
using Memento Peanut Brittle/Sweet Plum &
Tim Holtz Milled Lavender/Cracked Pistachio
I did miss a few bits with the masking and thought of
adding a pen mark to cover but was worried
I would mess it up.
I got out my stamps
Shenanigans/Wonderful Words from
CAS-UAL FRIDAYS STAMPS
http://cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/
and Inspired by Stamping Hello/Trendy Circle Sentiments
and embossed them in colours to match.
I decided to go with just sentiments as they say it all.
Added a bit of spritzing to finish.
I can now say I have tried a new technique.

Thanks for popping in
